Students have spent a semester learning tasty lessons in research and food science. The class is officially called “Science of the Foods We Love.”

The class finale was a visit to ConAgra headquarters in Omaha, Neb., to present the findings for possible use in improving the product.

The students presented findings on how to improve the company’s Orville Redenbacher popcorn. They used lab time to look at ways to improve the snack. ConAgra helped pay for the work and sent two scientists to visit the class in East Lansing.
