A dangerously accurate Mt St Helens re-enactment

Watch the WEBcast

May 18, 1980.  It’s a date that will live in infamy.  Thirty years ago to the day Mt. St. Helens blew it’s top in a cataclysmic explosion that tore the top 1,300 feet off the summit, killed 57 people, and destroyed over 200 homes.

Today on the PODcast we recreate the eruption (without the deaths, but with one home still worse for wear) using these household ingredients.

Mix the baking soda with the dishwashing liquid.  Add in drops of yellow and red food coloring.  Then mix in the vinegar and … kaboom!  Well, more like gurgle, spurt, icky mess.  Best leave it to the pros on the PODcast.

It will be like you were there on that Sunday morning 30 years ago!
