Any day with John Popper of Blues Treveler on the show is exceptional.  But even by that standard, today was off-the-charts.

Popper, who is a special guest performer at the Synergia Northwest show at The Moore Theater tonight (May 6, 2011), lights up when Marty asks him to compare his harmonica prowess to that of Mick Jagger.  He proceeds to break into nothing short of a standup comedy routine about Jagger vs. Dylan vs. Neil Young vs. the woman who takes hardest hit, Alanis.

Also performing live – and choosing wisely to leave harmonica out of their mix while Popper goes on his hilarious tirade – are The Washover Fans.  A wonderful Americana foursome whose sound blends beautifully with the Seattle’s current red-hot folk revival.  In the words of Amazon, if you like The Head and the Heart you will also like The Washover Fans.
