On the 40th anniversary of the Kent State Shootings, Chris Mays, our podcast music director, recalls what it was like living in Ohio at the time;  she was a student up the way in Columbus, OH on May 4, 1970.

Then Ms. Mays propels us from the tragic past into the exciting present with two new song suggestions from the Black Keys and Robert Francis.

And if that weren’t enough to justify the podcast’s existence today, a week before the original members of Heart reunite in our basement for the first time in 30 years, Kelly, a regular podcast listener recalls the time she “washed Roger Fisher’s car.”  Actually, drop the quotes, because she actually just washed Roger Fisher’s car.  No innuendo.

Chris Mays’s music picks:
The Black Keys – Tighten Up (LP: Brothers – out on May 18th)

The Black Keys - Tighten Up - Single
Robert Francis – Junebug (LP: Before Nightfall)
