Mystery "Locavore" Chef, Lou Kohl in the Studio

Watch the WEBcast

We begin with a full recap of RACE DAY – the foot race to benefit the American Lung Association between Marty, Yaz, and Yaz’s 62-year-old mother-in-law.  Yaz won, but the results were dubious.

Then the show takes a curious – some would say confusing – turn, with “locavore” chef Lou Kohl.  Heir to the Kohl Department Store fortune, and owner of the Dirt Farm, an extreme locally-sourced restaurant situated east of the Mt Si Tavern (they serve nothing grown outside a 100 yard radius of the restaurant), Lou Kohl has gained a certain celebrity in Seattle with this front page write-up in the Seattle Weekly.

In addition to Lou’s culinary credentials and his uncanny resemblance to Ray LaMontagne (see below) he’s also a fine singer-guitarist and on today’s show he pays tribute to his favorite Seattle band NoRey with a live performance of two of their tunes.
