One of the last vestiges of prohibition in Seattle came to an end last year when today’s podcast guest, Steven Stone, opened the first distillery in the city since 1915.  His Sound Spirits distillery is now the only place in Seattle outside of a state run liquor store where you can legally buy booze.

A Boeing engineer by day, Steven is the first brave soul to navigate the mountains of red tape required to bring a distillery online in the city. Steven talks about the hurdles he overcame from convincing the Seattle fire department he wasn’t about to blow himself up, to finding the right bottle – stylish, yet affordable – to hold his Ebb + Flow single malt vodka.
